Plant Shut Downs

Over the years, SCM, Inc. has performed numerous plant shutdowns.  While what is involved in a shutdown typically varies with each plant and process, the following common denominators are usually prevalent:

• Lockouts must be done on all machines where work will be performed during the shutdown
• Operations cease during the shutdown
• Any vessel has to be air tested and sniffed prior to entry
• Shifts for shutdowns typically run 10 hours, 12 hours, or 24 hours
